The University of the West of Scotland has four campuses in Scotland, in the towns of Ayr, Dumfries, Hamilton and Paisley. These locations are spread throughout western Scotland, from picturesque Ayr on the coast to Paisley and Lanarkshire , both of which are close to Glasgow, to the town of Dumfries, almost on the English border.

There is also a London campus, close to the Southbank, which is famous for its vibrant culture.

The international student population at UWS is extremely diverse – the university currently has students from a third of the globe, all of whom are attracted by the strong research ethos and cutting edge teaching at one of Scotland's most modern universities. In a student population of 16,000 around 2,000 are international students, and over 70 countries are represented.
