• conceal recruitment activity from competitors
• get help with the recruitment process

Many agencies specialise in certain industry sectors and types of work and within certain regions. Agencies are paid by employers to help them fill a particular vacancy.

Recruitment agencies should not ask you to pay them for you finding a job through them, but they can normally charge for additional services such as preparing a CV.
