The best way into the industry is to gain a degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, but there is a lot of crossover with other engineering degrees in Mechanics, Computing, Aeronautics and Physics.

This will teach you the technical aspects of electrical engineering, helping you to build your skills and experience through a series of vocational qualifications. Aside from the relevant qualifications in electrical engineering you will need to be good at managing projects and be a good multi-tasker. Good communications and team-work skills are essential to completing jobs.
