People 'seeking graduate jobs in insurance'
The turbulence in the banking sector may lead to people seeking graduate jobs in insurance, it has been claimed.
Sandy Scott, chief executive of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), said that more university leavers are looking to embark on a career in the industry, adding that this represents a "silver lining" for the sector in the wake of the economic slump.
"Talent is a war that insurance cannot afford to lose. To maintain competitiveness it is crucial that companies are able to recruit the best possible talent available," she remarked.
Ms Scott, who was speaking at a seminar in Leicester, stated that there are "marvellous" opportunities available within the insurance business.
Meanwhile, financial services firm Edward Jones is gearing up to launch a nationwide recruitment campaign.
The company is looking to take on 38 new advisers every month and will also run training programmes designed to suit an individual's needs.
