Clifford Chance 'most desirable' for legal graduate jobs

Students looking for graduate jobs in the legal sector have voted Clifford Chance as the firm they would most like to work for.

A survey carried out by Legal Week Intelligence found that of the 2,500 respondents, 61 per cent believe the Magic Circle company to be the most prestigious destination.

The firm was marginally ahead of Allen & Overy in the survey, which also featured Linklaters, Slaughter and May and Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in the top five.

Richard Hough, graduate recruitment partner at Allen & Overy - which received 60 per cent of the vote - told Legal Week that that its strong position was testament to it "maintaining regular contact with students on campus - not just using open days and vacation schemes".

A number of legal firms featured in the recently-published Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For 2009, with Olswang, CMS Cameron McKenna and Berwin Leighton Paisner among those making the list.ADNFCR-1587-ID-19083246-ADNFCR
