Network Rail doubles graduate job offerings
Network Rail has increased its graduate job offerings as it looks to expand its operations.
The transport firm has taken on over 220 university leavers in 2009, employing people in a variety of engineering positions.
This is twice as many places as the company created last year and 80 of the new recruits have come from a course designed by Network Rail and run by the University of Warwick and University College London.
Sponsored graduates who studied railway engineering at Sheffield Hallam University accounted for 20 of the positions, while 132 were filled through the organisation's regular recruitment programme.
"It's an exciting time to work at Network Rail and these graduates have a tremendous opportunity to be part of something that impacts on millions of people every day," remarked Adrian Thomas, head of resourcing at Network Rail.
