REC calls for recruitment qualifications feedback

The Recruitment and Employment Confederation's (REC) Academy for Business has called on UK employers to participate in a review of its qualifications programme.

Recognised throughout the industry, REC qualifications have been taken by thousands of students hoping to further graduate careers in recruitment.

Judith Armatage, director of professional development, said: "Recruitment is a fast-moving industry and in order for its people to succeed, we are creating a qualifications' framework to help drive it forward."

She added that feedback from recruiters in the business would help make the programme more relevant and robust.

The review aims to professionalise the industry and in doing so will provide an improved route or framework for people seeking graduate jobs in the sector.

Students can learn legal and regulatory issues, sales and candidate management skills relating to recruitment.

Meanwhile, the REC has launched its fifth largest sector group, bringing together almost 350 recruitment firms, to support those working within the office environment.
