Financial advisers launch new graduate recruitment scheme
A financial advisory firm has launched a new graduate recruitment scheme, it has been revealed.
Lancashire-based company 1st Chartered is currently in talks with a local university about taking on graduates, reports citywire.co.uk.
Sylvia Bentham, managing director of the firm, confirmed university leavers will initially be trained as paraplanners and then advisers.
"I intend to give the graduates a lot of client contact and work dealing with the client information so that they learn the business quickly. That includes writing up the notes from client meetings, which I will dictate to them," she told the news provider.
Ms Bentham added that she plans to sell her systems and controls to struggling local independent financial advisers and hopes the new trainees will eventually take over those companies.
A finance student from Liverpool University has recently joined the firm as part of his course requirements. He is set to be handed a permanent position upon completing his degree.
