Students should apply early for top graduate jobs
Graduate job hunters should do their research and apply as early as possible say the Higher Education Careers Services Unit (HECSU).
HECSU say students should start the application process “very, very early” to have the chance of getting the best jobs.
Deputy director of research at HECSU Charlie Ball, said that the graduate jobs market would continue to be highly competitive but said that there are still plenty of opportunities available.
"Competition is quite severe, particularly for the type of roles, but last year employers reported unfilled vacancies for a number of reasons and this year is likely to be no different," he said.
"The majority of graduates are still going to get work this summer and over the autumn, it's just that if you want to secure your dream job you need to put the groundwork in very, very early and be extremely well-prepared."
According to recent research from Incomes Data Services there were 44 applicants for every graduate vacancy last year.
