Most graduate jobs in London

Almost half of all graduate vacancies are in the capital according to the annual research from the Association for Graduate Recruiters.

44.2% of all jobs for graduates could be found in London, whilst just under 10% came from the South East. The rest of the UK offered the remaining positions.

Worst for jobs were Wales (2.2%) and Northern Ireland (0.9%) claims the research. 12% of vacancies were generated by the North East, North West and Yorkshire combined last year.

The AGR survey showed that for the first time in two years, employers were increasing starting wages by 2% to £25,500 in 2010-11.

The association said that recruiters are beginning to ‘overcome’ the recession.
