A high GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test)score. This test is very important and essential to gaining places at business schools so detailed preparation is required. Students can study for this exam through various books/CDs/CD-ROMs etc.
An application for a MBA course is often thorough, time consuming and students are often expected to pay an application charge. During the application process students are advised to apply to several business schools, usually between three and six. It is also important to remember that the most popular schools fill their places very quickly so candidates are required to apply quickly and early.
Students are further required to produce a personal statement. This is the students' chance to market themselves to the school. Good tips when writing your statements is to research the school you are applying for and what their business course entails. It is helpful to keep these details in mind when you begin the writing process. Candidates will be required to write a different application for each school that they apply to. Statements should be unique to the course and school the students are applying for.
References are also very important during the application process. These need to be from independent people, preferably employers who have been evaluating your work for two years. After completing all of the above, you will be required to attend an interview. Interviews are compulsory when applying for an MBA course.
