"AV is a specialist year-out organisation with 14 years' experience where YOU really count.
This is for motivated and adventurous students who want to spend 4 months in a developing country to teach English and other general subjects, as well as music, art, drama and sport, to 6-16 year old's in primary/secondary schools.
The teaching medium is always English. Your group (normally 20-30) are given a 1-week orientation course run by AV Directors on arrival in country, where you learn the basics of Swahili, Hindi or Nepali, Spanish or Mandarin, carry-out teacher-training exercises and learn about the local religions, culture and history.
One of your greatest assets is your ability to speak and write good English. You will be given accommodation at the school, and a local teachers' salary.
Afterwards, you will have 3 weeks of independent travel with members of your group. This will be followed by an unforgettable safari watching wildlife in some of the world's best National Parks. The cost is £2,975 and includes local pay, accommodation, training courses, insurance, group safari, all back-up and support in-country. Useful fundraising guidence given."
