Part Time EFL Teachers

Salary : £195 - £255 Per Week

Are you looking for a part time TEFL role?

Teachers work with two different classes each morning, swapping groups after the break with a partner teacher. Lessons therefore need to be planned with the other teacher to ensure continuity of the students? programme of work.

Teaching hours are 15 per week and you are expected to work 2 additional afternoons carrying out duties such as course administration tasks or taking part in the leisure programme. Teachers will receive a £20 travel allowance in addition to their basic salary and if they opt to attend the Saturday excursion will receive an extra £30. Returning teachers receive an additional £10. Your gross salary could be increased by up to £60!

Teachers are only expected to work a further 2 afternoons per week (up to 3½ hours per afternoon). This may involve a variety of activities depending on your preferences and the type of duties that need to be completed. These duties may involve external examination preparation lessons, exam invigilation or other administrative tasks. Alternatively, you could be assisting with sports activities, accompanying students and their Group Leaders to local places of interest, or other leisure activities, possibly geared to your particular skills, training or interests.

All teaching materials are provided, using a range of up-to-date resources and our own in-house course materials. Emphasis is placed on the development of spoken English skills. Some students opt to enter Trinity (spoken English) exams, so teachers must be ready to help prepare their students for these. Guidance will be given where necessary.

Job Start : June
Job Duration : 2 - 8 weeks
Job Requirements : We are committed to providing high-quality English courses to our students and we expect all teachers to hold a minimum of an initial TEFL certificate (e.g. RSA/Trinity Cert. or equivalent) of at least 100 hours of teaching input and that includes 6 hours of observed teaching.

We also welcome teachers with UK Qualified Teacher Status for the secondary school age range in a related subject (e.g. foreign languages) with some TEFL experience, and should preferably have at least one year?s teaching experience. Newly qualified teachers are welcomed and will be considered for posts subject to a successful interview.

Although we welcome applications from all sections of the community, our clients expect that we only employ people whose first language is English or who have the accent of a native-speaker. We do employ some non-native speakers, but such teachers must understand they may be turned down on the basis of accent, however well-qualified they are.
