Aon Hewitt is currently looking for a Technical Analyst to join the Retirement team in Epsom. This is an entry level position, which primarily involves providing analytical support to the Retirement team, and the work that we provide to our clients. As a Technical Analyst, you will be providing assistance to actuarial students, consultants and actuaries on various types of client projects, such as data preparation, benefit calculations, and pension valuations.

- Providing timely, efficient and professional delivery of service using the appropriate available resources
- Completing work assignments accurately and on time
- Understanding how to value a pension and the corresponding liability - to be able to perform pension calculations
- Validating and reconciling member data
- Managing one's own workflow effectively, and following instructions in a logical manner
- Using initiative to complete repeat work with little direction
- Developing strong use of computer systems (e.g. Excel spreadsheets) to be able to input data and update models
- Completing some work through others (i.e. delegating)
As a Technical Analyst, your skills and qualifications will ideally include:-
- A good educational background
- Mathematics 'A' Level (or equivalent), grade C or above
- General proficiency and comfort with mathematics
- Strong organisational and technical skills (ideally including a working knowledge of Excel)
- Previous pensions experience - preferably defined benefit (ideal, but not essential)
