Job Description
Graduate Electrical Engineer
A Graduate Electrical engineer on a development programme designed to achieve Chartered status in four years, accredited to IMechE and RINA. Along with a competitive salary there is an annual performance bonus of £1000. Start date September 2012.

We are looking for an ambitious Graduate Electrical engineer who wants an exciting and diverse career in a Marine engineering business to be part of our well established graduate development programme. You will spend the first two years, moving round the business units, during this phase of the you will report to the Training & Development Manager who will ensure that your development will benefit from engineering and other opportunities available in the business. The areas you will cover will include health & safety, engineering and design, project management, production management, facilities engineering and commercial management. The second two years will be spent in a business unit on career development, using the skills and knowledge gained in a position of increasing professional responsibility. The culmination of this will be a professional interview with your institution and chartered status.


Qualifications & Requirements
MEng Degree
or
BEng (1st class Hons) or 2:1

In compliance with the academic requirements for C.Eng BEng candidates will be required to complete a programme of further learning approved by engineering Institution.

The Marine & Technology Division of Babcock International Group at Rosyth delivers a wide range of engineering services and products.

In Warship Support we maintain and refit aircraft carriers, destroyers, frigates, minesweepers and patrol vessels. At present this represents a large percentage of the Royal Navy’s warships.

The Queen Elizabeth Class project team is a member of the UK’s Aircraft Carrier Alliance. It has responsibility for delivering a significant element of the Royal Navy’s two new aircraft carriers, a task that requires strongly developed partnering skills and considerable engineering innovation. Assembly, integration and commissioning of the carriers is being carried out at Rosyth.

Babcock Integrated Technology at Rosyth, Newcastle and Bristol is an established provider of design and engineering services for naval and commercial marine assets. QEC facilities maintain the site infrastructure at Rosyth. The facility currently includes three fully serviceable dry docks, capable of accommodating vessels in excess of 40,000 tons, No1 dock has been enlarged to accommodate the assembly and integration of the blocks that make up the Queen Elizabeth Class Carrier at 65,000 tons. The ship lift can lift small ships up to 1100 tons, providing the capacity for working on up to five ships in a fully covered complex.
