Job Description
Graduate Systems Engineer
Babcock International Group – Marine and Technology Division are looking for driven and enthusiastic Graduate System Engineers to join our well established and accredited Graduate Training Scheme in Devonport, Plymouth.

The initial first 2 years of the development scheme will be divided into a number of placements each designed to give you a broad experience of the company and exposure to the different projects undertaken across the site. This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex engineering challenges ranging from large scale submarine or warship refits to fast paced commercial projects.

As a Graduate Systems Engineer you will need to have the aptitude and desire to develop a career in systems engineering. This will include attaining skills and experience based around INCOSE principles and implementation of ISO 15288 systems engineering approaches.

You will need to support and manage:

• Development of capability across the entire systems engineering life cycle
• Architectural design, including modelling and evaluation
• Requirements definition and analysis
• Integration, verification, validation and acceptance management
• Systems Engineering Management
• Transition to operation, maintenance and disposal.

The programme is designed to enable both you and Babcock to understand where your strengths lie prior to you undertaking a role of responsibility at the end of your initial 2 year training period. There also maybe opportunities during the initial 2 years to work closely with local schools and to be actively involved with STEM and engineering initiatives.

At the end of the initial development period you will commence your first role of responsibility and will be supported in your progress to achieve Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status. The size and diversity of our organisation provide a wealth of opportunities across the business, and there will be the potential to further develop your career into a more senior role.

You will be supported throughout the training programme by key people from within the business, and also by an assigned mentor who will ensure that you gain the appropriate skills and experience to achieve professional status. Qualifications & Requirements
For this role Babcock is looking for exceptional graduates with at least a 2:2 BEng (Hons) Degree or 2:2 MEng (Hons) Degree in the following disciplines:

• Systems Engineering
• Electrical/Electronic Engineering
• Computer Science
• Software Engineering
• Mechatronics

This Training Scheme is accredited by the IMechE, IET, RINA, and IChemE, therefore your degree must be accredited to the relevant institution.


Security
Successful applicants will need to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements.
