Few organisations play a more influential role in the UK’s economy than the Bank of England. As the country’s central bank, we are involved in activities that underpin the monetary and financial stability of the country – from setting interest rates, meeting the liquidity needs of the banking system, managing the circulation of notes, to mitigating threats to the whole financial system.

Because our work is demanding and often high profile, we look for graduates with high levels of intellectual ability who can also demonstrate strong analytical and numeracy skills. As a graduate entrant, which area of the Bank you join will depend on your academic background and skills – some areas of the bank require specialist economics or technology skills, for example, but others are open to a broad range of academic backgrounds, including maths, finance, history, science and engineering subjects.
