If you’re determined to do more with your future, becoming an Army Officer will get you off to a great start. To do something that really matters. To make friends for life. It’s your chance to train at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, build transferable skills, and go on adventures at home and abroad.

 

You’ll learn everything from fundamental skills like outdoor survival and weapons handling, to military strategy and the theoretical elements of leadership. You’ll train alongside fellow recruits from all over the world and make some of the best friends you’ve ever had.

When you complete the course you’ll become a Second Lieutenant and undertake specialist training that will prepare you for your specific role in the Army, from commanding a platoon of 30 paratroopers to intelligence officer or helicopter pilot. You’ll then take command of your soldiers, leading by example and looking after their best interests.

 

You’ll benefit from the best leadership and management training in the world, a career that will help you make the most of it, and a clear path for promotion. You’ll have immediate responsibility that could see you rising to the rank of Captain after three years and Major thereafter.

What you’ll need to apply:

 

You don’t need a degree to join as an Officer. You can enrol straight after A-Levels with a minimum of 180 UCAS points.

 

However, for some people university is an important stage in their life and so we can support candidates with a range of bursary options. Some Officer roles require specialist degrees before applying, including our Dentist, Doctor and Lawyer roles.
