Join the British Schools Exploring Society (BSES) to deliver talks and presentations to schools around the country.
Promotional talks are important to develop relationships and long-term links with schools and other youth organisations to ensure a regular and ongoing stream of high-calibre applicants for BSES? expeditions.
It is anticipated that this position will suit freelancers or those working part-time, particularly who are expeditioners or have a background in education or youth development. The role will require between 8 and 16 hours of work per week.
Your key tasks will be:
* To arrange and deliver a minimum of 20 talks and presentations on BSES to schools and other organisations
* To focus on ?soft? targets as identified by the BSES office, as well as some ?cold? targets which may be particularly local or have some other significance
* To update the Narketing Manager regularly on the arrangement and delivery of talks
* To co-ordinate local former Young Explorers to ensure support at all talks and presentations
* To use existing personal networks and build further networks in these areas for BSES
Follow-up tasks will include:
* Collecting email addresses and other contact information of interested parties and register these on the BSES website database
* Ensuring organisation contact data is regularly updated and returned to the BSES office
* Offering support and encouragement to young people who are identified by the BSES office as strong potential applicants
