Camp America is an opportunity you shouldn't miss! It's a chance to do something different with your summer and spend it in the U.S.A. living & working either with children or 'behind the scenes' as support staff on an American Summer Camp. Camp America is a cultural exchange programme, we provide the support for you to spend an unforgettable summer in America. It gives you the opportunity to step away from the tourist traps and find out what life is really like in this immense and diverse country. Living, working and travelling over the summer you will meet the people, see the sights and truly experience a different side to the States.
Free travel time after camp
Once your placement ends, you will have up to 10 weeks to explore the US. Visit the Grand Canyon, the Statue of Liberty, the Golden Gate Bridge, Mount Rushmore, Las Vegas or the Hollywood Hills, the choice is yours! You will also get a 10% discount off any Trek America tour package.
Free return flights
Flights to New York depart from London and other selected airports, and include a free transfer to your camp. At the end of your Summer return to New York to receive your free flight home.
Free accommodation and meals
Throughout your stay at camp (which is usually 9 weeks) all your food and board will be provided. You will also stay in a great hotel on your arrival in the New York area (unless you travel directly to camp).
Pocket money
When you complete your contract, you will receive a sum of pocket money depending on your age and position. See the individual roles opposite for further details.

New friends
Of course, one of the biggest benefits is the amount of new people you'll meet in the course of your summer some of who will become friends (or maybe more!) for life.
We're not going to lie...once you've finished with camp, you'll be well and truly 'cream crackered' (a polite way of saying "very tired"!) and in need of a hard-earned rest - and luckily with Camp America, that's just what you get!
Following the end of your placement - you'll have up to 2 months to travel (in total your visa allows for up to 4 months placement followed by 1 month of travel - the beauty of this is that most placements end well within 4 months)
The travel is one of the most fun parts of the programme - it's your time to let loose, kick back, step-up, have fun and live life! And there's no where better to do all of that than in the US.
The landscape is indescribable (but we'll give it a go!) from the mountains in Colorado, to the beaches in Florida, from the wide-open spaces of Texas to the old-style charm of Louisiana, from the deserts and canyons of Arizona to the cities of New York, Chicago, Seattle, Washington DC...there is quite honestly something for everyone to enjoy - whether it's nature, beach-life, history, art & culture or just plain shopping there's fun stuff to do in every state.
There are lots of different qualities that help make up a Camp America applicant.
If you have the necessary experience and/or qualifications, you could be working in any type of role from sports coach to drama teacher. Whatever your skill, you can have a rewarding summer experience passing on your expertise to campers!
We offer fantastic pocket money rates for all applicants and reward our applicants according to their skills, so if you do have that certificate or specialist knowledge in a field that is relevant to camp life, then why not use it and earn extra dollars for your summer adventure?
