Job Description

About us
EDF Group is a major player in the European energy industry, across every area of the electricity chain: from generation to trading. We are also the world's largest nuclear power generator. We've built 67 Nuclear Power Plants in France, and also helped construct, commission and operate some of the first plants in China and South Africa.

Quite simply, no one can match the expertise and experience our engineers have of clean, safe and efficient nuclear power generation. This is your chance to learn everything they know.

What's involved
You can join us as a Safety & Process, Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineer. Whichever role you take, you'll be given formal training courses on nuclear skills, as well as on-the-job training and a dedicated mentor throughout your first role.

There are many projects you can test your skills on, such as:

  • building a "third generation" nuclear reactor;
  • acting as an architect engineer;
  • designing and implementing maintenance services;
  • exploring how to extend the life of a plant; or
  • decommissioning and dismantling sites.

As for the future?
Take your pick from a variety of career paths. You could specialise in a particular area of engineering. You could choose to develop into project management or team management. You might choose to join our operations business. Whether you choose to stay in France or expand your horizons abroad, there are many possibilities.

What we're looking for

  • Engineering graduates with an M.Eng, MSc or PhD in any engineering discipline
  • Ideally, that will have involved some nuclear-related content, though it's by no means essential
  • Either knowledge of or willingness to learn French

Salary: €34,000 - €45,000 (based on qualifications and experience)
This is a chance to relocate your engineering expertise; learn rare skills; and contribute to projects that will lead the world in the development of nuclear energy.

Benefits:

  • Welcome bonus of €3,000 plus relocation support
  • French language courses
  • 27 days' holiday
  • private healthcare
  • pension
  • performance-related bonus
  • several other benefits
