IMS Research, recently acquired by IHS, is a leading independent supplier of market research and consultancy to the global electronics industry, offering syndicated market studies, custom research and consultancy services with offices worldwide.
You will be part of a close-knit compact team of ‘industry experts’, working with customers at every stage to build constructive partnerships, developing an area of expertise in a technical marketplace. With significant amounts of travel – mostly international – you will project manage the entire process of detailed market research reporting, including client presentations. Business development will notably include telephone sales to both existing and new customers. Working on exciting live projects from week one, you will be trained alongside one of our experienced analysts, before taking on your own projects. In parallel to this, you will join in a series of in-house courses run by a mix of external consultants and internal personnel.
Holding a good Honours degree in Electronic/electrical /mechanical engineering or a related science/engineering based discipline, you should demonstrate a desire to apply your technical knowledge in a commercial environment. Or, if you are from a business/marketing/commercial based discipline, you will need to show a good ability to grasp technical concepts.
You should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, being creative, inquisitive and persistent, and enjoy solving analytical problems. Numerate and comfortable manipulating and presenting statistics in a variety of formats, you will be happy to work independently and as part of a team.
