The RoleThe Services division provide ongoing technical support and management of our customer's networks.
The role of Graduate Project Manager forms part of the Project Delivery Group, which has two main functions: Improvement projects and New Product Introductions (NPI).
The Improvement projects team are responsible for delivering business change projects across the division. This is an exciting and challenging role where you'll be asked to take responsibility for managing key Service's improvements. This could be improvement to the groups call management system, leading the implementation of new working practices or even the setup of a new support service. You will have early responsibility for leading a small number of projects with project teams of up to 6 people.
The NPI team are responsible for the smooth introduction of new products and services e.g. new virus protection software into the division. This is an exciting and challenging role where you will manage a portfolio of up to 15 projects at any one time and take responsibility for ensuring the right processes are in place so that any impact to our customers is minimised.
The Project Delivery group also provide support to our customer technical teams when a rapid response incident is identified, such as a major imminent virus threat or critical security vulnerability. In these projects you'll represent the division interfacing with teams from across RM to help plan our approach and identify solutions before the issue starts to threaten our customer's networks.
Responsibilities• Defining and refining project ideas
• Communicating project objectives and updates across the division.
• Creating and managing project plans
• Continually analysing the risks and developing risk mitigation strategies
• Managing project issues as they arise
• Delivering projects to time and budget
• Negotiating with divisional teams for resources
• Developing relationships and liaising with other divisions
• Acting as a divisional representative on inter-departmental project teams

Training & DevelopmentYou'll need help to get you started in the role and a senior team member will mentor you from your first day. They will guide you in applying the RM Project Methodology (based upon Prince2) and actively support you on your early projects.
A training plan will be agreed with you for job specific technical skills as well as some designed to improve skills important for this role such as negotiation and financial planning.
Within your first year, once you have mastered the fundamentals, professionally recognised Prince2 training and accreditation will be provided.
Future Progression In this role you can expect to progress to more senior project management positions including the opportunity to manage teams of project managers. Ultimately you could progress to become a Programme Manager leading multi million pound bids or cross-divisional project portfolios.
Qualifications & ExperienceA 2:1 or first class honours degree.
260 UCAS tariff points or equivalent.
