No industry is faster-moving or more challenging than retail. And no-one in the industry offers more varied opportunities or a clearer-cut career path than Tesco. The number one retailer in the UK, with over 1900 stores and a turnover of around £29 billion, we’re currently repeating our success story overseas through a programme of rapid expansion, especially in Central Europe and the Far East. It’s all part of an ambitious growth strategy that covers four key areas – core UK business, international, non-food business and retailing services.
It’s not just food we offer
Maybe food immediately springs to mind at the mention of the name Tesco. But it’s an image that’s fast becoming out-dated as we diversify way beyond our core business. Our mission to provide our customers with whatever they need it whenever they want it now encompasses i-pods and mobiles as well as clothing, homeware, CDs and electrical goods. Tesco Finance, meantime, offers loans, mortgages, bank accounts and credit cards, while Tesco.com is the world’s most successful e-commerce operation with over 200,000 orders a week – including DVD rental and flower delivery.
We’re just as committed to our people as we are to our customers – an attitude that’s reflected in our graduate programmes. As well as theory and workshops, our programmes include plenty of hands-on experience and we’ll even provide you with a mentor as part of an ongoing personal development plan designed to keep your career moving in whatever direction you choose.
