The original intensive outdoor skills training course run at the leading development-training centre in the southwest. We are fast becoming the National Training Centre for the Industry with now over 600 Instructors trained and placed in the Industry.

The team has 15 years of experience training instructors for the Industry, and can boast over 600 successful students all gaining employment and careers in the Industry. Government approved with funding available through career development loans. Info at www.theadventurecentre.co.uk
Spring Course: Total of a16 weeks January 5th ? April 14th 2009
Winter Course: Total of 16 weeks August 31st ? December 16th 2009
The course works students towards National Governing Body Qualifications in Climbing, Walking, Kayaking and Open Canoeing. The majority of the candidates achieve their:
BMC Single Pitch Award Training in Climbing.
MLTE Summer Mountain Leader Training.
New UKCC BCU 1 + 2 Star and Canoe Safety Test.
New UKCC BCU Level 1 Coach.
New UKCC BCU 3 Star in White Water Kayaking or Open Canoeing. New UKCC BCU Level 2 Coach Training.
Additional training is given in High Ropes Courses, Trapeze, Jacobs Ladder, Orienteering, Archery, Problem Solving etc with theory sessions one evening a week including health and safety, risk assessments, licensing laws, child protection policies, development training, theories and models, environmental awareness, crisis management, presentation skills etc.
Job Start : Courses start 5th January 2009 - 15th April 2009 Job Duration : 16 week courses Job Requirements : Applicants must be 18 or over by week six of the course.. The cost of the course is £4750.00, non residential. Basic accommodation can be provided at the Centre for an additional charge of £90.00 per week including full catering. The course is now registered for Enhanced Learning Credits Reg No 2068. It is also registered through the Learning Skills Council and thus candidates can obtain a Career Development Loan.
