student loan - what to do with your finances

So you've decided to take advantage of the government's enormously generous student loan offer. Fair enough, but this is not the same as the "loan" you got from your parents recently to get you through the summer or the tenner your best mate lent you last week - you will have to pay it back

10 Things to do with your Student Loan

No need to worry about that now though - you've probably never had such a big wad in your pocket before, so you may be at a loss to know what to do with it. Having done some research here at the TBC office, we've come up with 10 fantastic ways to blow the lot:

1. Live very well for one month

2. Pay someone to write/research all your essays

3. Buy some stocks and shares (in blue-chip
companies with a proven track record or through a unit trust)

4. Take all your mates to Ibiza for the holiday of your life

5. Live like Scrooge, enjoy the "I'm a poor student" martyrdom and put the money in a high interest instant savings account

6. Bribe your lecturers with expensive gifts

7. Start a small business and give uni a miss

8. Spend it all on lottery tickets

9. Club together to buy a race-horse

10. Give the lot to charity

Have you got any suggestions to add to the list? Email: The Editor and tell us how you'd like to spend your wad.
