When looking at getting a part time job there are several types of job available to you.
Traditionally many part-time jobs cover periods such as evenings and weekends and cover positions with irregular hours such as bar, hotel and retail work.

Bar Work
As well as bar staff, there are always vacancies for glass collectors, kitchen staff, cleaners, bouncers and cloakroom attendants. The noise and drunken customers may put some people off however many others enjoy working in bars and pubs because of the atmosphere.
Hotel/Restaurant Work
With hotel and restaurant work there is more possibility of working during the day or weekends if you prefer to have your evenings free. Students who choose to get part-time work in a hotel or restaurant usually are dependent on tips as the rates of pay may not be as high as other jobs.
Retail
Working in a clothes shop or supermarket is a popular way of earning money. Retail jobs usually offer competitive rates of pay and during holiday seasons such as Christmas and summer, big name retailers usually need temporary staff who can help during the busy period. Retail jobs are very flexible and you can work to suit your timetable. Students tend to prefer to work during the week after lectures and at the weekend.
Campus Brand Manager
Now becoming a popular way of earning easy money, campus brand managers are becoming more sought after. Many big companies and recruitment services pay students to represent their brand at universities. The role usually requires the student to hand out flyers, run events and talk about the company/client to fellow students. Students can expect a wage of about 7- 10 an hour and the plus side of this type of job is that you can work when you want and it's on campus, therefore the work is pretty much on your doorstep (if you live in halls, that is!)
Tutoring
Tutoring is another good way of earning some extra cash. Consider tutoring as a way of helping others. Tutoring can vary from teaching pupils who are preparing for their GCSE's, school exams or learning a new language.Tutors can earn anything from 10 an hour.
