CPPE introduces new assessment tool for pharmacy trainees
Preregistration pharmacist trainees in England are set to benefit from an additional resource designed to help young people take their first step into graduate jobs in the sector.
From August 10th, pharmacy students will have access to the Medicines Use Review (MUR) online assessment, the Centre for Pharmacy Postgraduate Education (CPPE) has announced.
CPPE director Dr Christopher Cutts said that at this time of year, many preregistration trainees will be thinking about where to start their graduate careers.
He explained: "Some will be considering community pharmacy, where a lot of employers might expect their newly registered pharmacists to be involved in providing an MUR service soon after taking up their posts.
"Taking the CPPE assessment towards the end of the preregistration year will help preregistration pharmacist trainees to be ready for this requirement."
The assessment is accredited by the Higher Education Institutions and offers users the flexibility associated with e-learning.
Funded by the Department of Health, the CPPE offers ongoing professional development opportunities for all practising pharmacists in the UK.
