Rise in temporary work placements

The number of temporary work placements is rising according to the temping agency company de Poel.

Undertaking placements and work experience is increasingly becoming a step for graduates to secure a full-time job.

The average number of hours worked were up by 10% in March according to the figures from the temping company.
Matthew Sanders, chief executive of de Poel, said that the results show the tentative feeling still present in the recruitment industry.

"This data shows that businesses are still wary about employing permanent staff and so temporary workers are a brilliant solution to business fluctuations and the need for short-term labour," he said.
