The firm recruits 120 trainee solicitors each year and applications are welcomed from both law and non-law graduates with an excellent academic background. All trainees spend at least 12 months in core practice areas and minimum of three months gaining contentious experience, usually in the litigation department.

It is also common for trainees to spend six months in an international office.The firm also offers Summer Vacation Placements and we have 90 places throughout the summer. There is no substitute for real experience and a placement at Allen & Overy will give you a realistic impression of life with an international law firm.
