Sam N Em Do The World 12th February - Nakhon Ratchasima

Hello friends, Well, one more week in Thailand before hitting the States on 20th Feb ... can't wait, San Francisco here we come!

I 've just come out of hospital (in Laos this time, for dysentery attack number 4). I was on a drip for another 2 days and am down to 8 and a half stone (which actually feels great, I usually weigh 10 stone 2 pounds ... but I guess none of you want to be bored with these details). We decided to curtail our Laos trip and return to civilisation (ie. good pharmacists to stock up on medication).

We have spent a couple of days doing 6-hour bus and train journeys and are now in Nakhon Ratchasima, the second largest Thai city. Tomorrow we are off to Phimai historical park, which sounds exciting to me. It was built before Angkor Wat, but along the same Khmer lines. I wonder if Graham Hancock has been there? It must all be linked to the stars, this "Lost Civilisation" business.

My aunt and uncle are popping over for the weekend, which will be great ... time to claim my Christmas supply of new Marks & Spencer pants ... boy, do I need them now! I'll keep you posted!
