The graduate employment situation is looking positive for Scottish graduates with nine out of ten from 2010/11 having progressed into work or training within six months of graduating.

88.% had a job, had started further study or were in training according to statistics from Scotland’s Chief Statistician. This is an increase of 0.7 percent since 2009-10.

Almost three quarters of those who found work were in graduate positions and four in five were working in Scotland.

Education Secretary Michael Russell said: "Today’s figures confirm the value of our universities and a Scottish education. The most recent statistics from the UK on graduate destinations showed that Scotland has the best outcomes for those leaving Higher Education with a qualification.”

"Information from UCAS also shows that many students from England and Wales view our universities as the right place to study and our institutions also continue to do well in world rankings for academic excellence."
