Graduate - Commercial
The job is located in Manchester – but you can expect secondments to Harwell, Leicester and Bristol as part of the graduate development programme which includes a personal development programme during your first year. You will report to the Head of Commercial.
Your job role is to ensure the contractual and financial viability of bids submitted, contracts accepted and delivered by Babcock.

Responsibilities
As directed by the Head of Commercial and in accordance with Babcock Governance, provide commercial support to specific bids and projects:
- Drafting commercial proposed wording and issuing of quotations in line with approved position
- Preparation of approval documentation and assistance in approval meeting
- Preparation of response to terms and conditions and preparation of suitable terms and conditions for unsolicited bids
- Assistance with terms and conditions and price negotiation
- Draft, obtain necessary approval for and negotiate confidentiality, teaming and other agreements
- Maintain register of export approvals and licences and obtain approvals as necessary
- Contract and change management of specific Framework Agreements and commercial support to relevant Framework Manager
- Support procurement department in the preparation of procurement plans and in ensuring appropriate terms and conditions and risk is flowed down to the supply base
- Support procurement in the management of supply contracts and sub-contracts
Qualifications & Requirements
Degree
First or upper second class honours degree in Business subject or Law or equivalent professional qualification.
Skills
- Strong commercial and business acumen;
- Good written and verbal communication skills;
- Good relationship building, influencing, and interpersonal skills;
- Capable of working on own initiative to satisfy demanding deadlines;
- Word and excel literate.

You will need to be a self-motivated individual, with a proactive and investigative approach to tasks and be capable of enhancing the image, capability and reputation of Babcock by your confident and professional approach.
Security
Graduates undertaking their training with Babcock's Nuclear business will be expected to work on nuclear sites and be capable of obtaining and maintaining the required security clearance. Job offers will be subject to successful conclusion of the vetting process.
