At HBOS, we give our work experience students opportunities to achieve their goals in a wide range of settings. Summer Placements
To qualify for our 8 weeks Summer Placements you will need to be working towards a relevant degree level qualification.

HBOS offers a number of opportunities for you to see what a career in financial services is like and to gain some valuable experience by working on live projects. Working for eight weeks during the summer break in July and August 2009, you'll add value to HBOS and have a real impact on our business.

What you'll be doing
Depending on your preferences and skills, these important projects could be in any of the following key areas: Actuarial, Business Leaders, Commercial Leaders or HR.

What can you expect?
You'll have the support of a line manager and a mentor with regular progress reviews, feedback and coaching, which will be a great benefit to your development. Our summer internships are given a very high profile within our business and opportunities are created that will stretch and challenge you.

You will meet and liaise with our senior leadership team to add value to our business whilst gaining an in-depth overview of the HBOS organisation. HBOS will provide financial support towards your accommodation, if required, and you will be well paid for the work you do.

Minimum requirements vary for each scheme. We'll ask you to complete an application process that includes an online application form together with a competency-based assessment, online tests and telephone interview. Finally, you'll attend one of our assessment centres. In all, the application process won't take long and will give us a picture of the strengths you'll bring to our business.
