The Role
This role forms part of the Hardware Solutions purchasing team who are responsible for procuring all RM's hardware components from a global supplier base. Major commodities include operating systems, processors, memory, main boards, optical devices, cases and monitors.
Responsibilities
• Developing and implementing strategies and control of supply chain to ensure optimisation of RM's inventory levels and availability.
• Understanding and benchmarking global commodity pricing for purchase commodities in order to achieve 'best in class' pricing for owned commodities
• Working closely with marketing and technology groups to understand product requirements and future product trends
• Developing and implementing sourcing strategies to ensure a supplier base able to deliver world class performance on cost, quality and availability.
• Ongoing management of a number of key suppliers to ensure best overall cost, quality and delivery

This is a real job from the outset with early responsibility for a set of key commodities. There will also be the requirement for occasional travel to Asia, Eastern Europe and North America.
Training & Development
We offer an excellent range of courses covering specific practical skills. Sponsorship and support will be given to attain Chartered Institute and Purchasing and Supply qualifications.
We also offer a range of courses designed to improve general and personal skills such as presentation or leadership ability.
Future Progression
This role is seen as a progressive role with scope for significant career development to Senior Buyer and potentially Purchasing Manager for outstanding candidates.
Qualifications & Experience
A 2:1 or first class honours degree. A degree in Business Studies would be an advantage.
260 UCAS tariff points or equivalent.
