What does the scheme involve?
The Sainsbury's IT division just keeps getting better and better: from giving our customers great on-line shopping services to upgrading systems across our 788 stores, we're always looking for technology that delivers improvements in a fast-paced environment. That's why we need to find tomorrow's IT leaders. Now.
Voted Best Place to Work in IT within the Retail Sector, we are confident that our 18 month IT Scheme will give you the managerial and technical skills you need to thrive in a business where the only constant is change. Your first six months in store will provide hands-on insights into the challenges and pressures felt at the core of our business. From then on you'll be based in our London Store Support Centre where you'll immediately influence the plans and shape and develop the projects that underpin our progress, from optimising our supply chain systems to enhancing the customer experience through technology.
What are we looking for?
Since technical skills can be learned along the way, we believe that a talent for building relationships, combined with the ability to communicate, is more important than expertise in the field. If you share our passion and believe IT can improve our customers' experience, we can give you an introduction to our business that's simply unbeatable. We will also require a minimum 2.2 degree in business or retail management, or IT management for business.
What skills will you develop?
As well as the skills that you will accrue through taking responsibility for the delivery of important IT business projects, you will develop real insight into the retail environment, learn important leadership skills and develop a strong IT foundation.
