Job Description

Essentra is a leading international supplier of specialist plastic, fibre, foam and packaging products with three Strategic Business Units: Component Solutions, Health &Personal Care Packaging and Filtration Products. Every day they produce and distribute millions of small but essential components. Their products may not be noticeable – or even recognisable – but wherever you are, their business is all around you. Their international network extends to 33 countries and includes 53 principal manufacturing facilities, 64 sales and distribution operations and 5 research & development centres.


They are looking to recruit a Manufacturing Graduate to join the Components division from their site based in Kidlington, Oxfordshire.


Reporting to the Production Manager the role with involve the following,



  • Support the development and evolution of the manufacturing supply chain

  • Have advanced working knowledge of software tools as well as shop floor practices and procedures

  • Offer technical support to the manufacturing team.

  • Undertake an injection moulding discipline (i.e. setting / tool making) in conjunction with the Graduate scheme program – to ensure full understanding of the process & to gain insight in the ‘real life’ issues associated with the injection moulding process.

  • Document processes within the manufacturing environment to define best practise

  • Separate and combine tasks into most efficient work flow

  • Identify opportunities for synergy and integration and simplify complex processes.

  • Audit best practise at this site vs. best practise in other manufacturing sites to ensure learnings are shared across the division.

  • Monitor performance with visual management systems to ensure compliance and to identify opportunities for improvement. 

  • Provide information to Plant teams.

  • Work with leadership to help prioritise the focus of CI activities upon key business improvement areas and take responsibility for owning and delivering the improvements

  • Communicate the status and progress of programs to the organisation including the site leadership team, local Management teams, team members and other stakeholders

  • Work with local teams to develop clear and effective performance reporting to help spread the word about successes.

As part of this role you will also join the 2 year graduate development programme training alongside graduates from across the globe as well as being given the opportunity to train in key international locations.


  • Minimum 2:1 degree in a relevant degree discipline

  • Practical understanding of sound engineering principles. Able to “get hands dirty” and lead by example

  • Good communication skills –able to build meaningful relationships with others.

  • Good organisational, analytical, problem solving and facilitation skills

  • Self-starter, able to participate in or lead cross-functional teams

  • Excellent Microsoft office skills (excel / access/ ppt) – able to present recommendations passionately.

  • Excellent time management, organisational and communication skills.

  • Be mobile both in the UK and Globally
