Who we are
Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP, founded in 1743 is a multinational law firm headquartered in London and a member of the Magic Circle of elite British law firms, with around 5,000 employees worldwide. Renowned for helping our clients execute their most complex cross-border transactions, we succeed by applying our regulatory and risk management skills to every transaction, bringing together our tax, IP, anti-trust finance, real estate and corporate teams around the world to ensure you have every base covered.
We are the oldest firm within the Magic Circle and we are reported to be the oldest international law firm in the world. Our origins can be traced back to the early 18th century when our firm was appointed solicitor to the Bank of England. We continue to advise the Bank of England today.

Mentoring and coaching
Formal training will only take you so far. Sometimes you just need a friendly word of advice from someone who’s been there before. So we allocate every trainee a trainee intake partner (TIP). They are your personal mentor throughout your two-year training contract. You can catch up with your TIP at any time, and you’ll meet them halfway through your training contract to discuss progress.
There’s also one-to-one coaching available from our trainee development team.
