Johnson Matthey : JM Graduate Programme - Science
Are you ready to begin a stimulating and challenging career journey? Does the idea of collaborating with new people, living and working in new places and building your leadership and technical skills feel like the perfect next step for you? If so, we’d like to tell you more about our Science Graduate Programme.
A FTSE 100 company and global leader in sustainable technologies, Johnson Matthey uses science to make the world cleaner and healthier. Over 93% of our sales come from technologies that benefit the environment and health, enhancing people’s lives on a global scale.
Over the past two centuries we have built our reputation and place as a global leader through quality, integrity, and innovation – but that’s not enough. We have ambitious plans for growth and need talented individuals to help shape and lead us into our next century.
Research & Development is at our core. We take it seriously, investing circa £200m per year. Our science sets us apart from the competition, drives sustainability and sets the pace for innovation across JM.
Learning from the best, you’ll hone your technical skills and apply your knowledge across a diverse range of disciplines, whilst developing into a future leader who can successfully lead projects, teams and help us tackle our strategic R&D challenges.
Our programme consists of three 8-month rotations – each carefully planned to develop you understanding and the leadership and management skills that will help launch your career. You’ll undertake at least one placement in one of our UK based Technology Centres where we carry out research for the group, and deliver our core science service. You’ll also benefit from placements across the broader business, where the links between lab, production and customer are even closer as you help our products reach their market.
We'll challenge you - but you'll be well rewarded. We offer a highly competitive salary and bonus structure coupled with market leading benefits.
Are you the ideal candidate?
You will have an outstanding academic background with a BSc (minimum 2.1) Masters or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Materials Science, combined with a clear ambition to apply your expertise in leadership roles.
