NCS The Challenge
The Challenge is looking for mission driven, highly competent individuals to join their rapidly growing team working on the National Citizen Service programme.
The Challenge’s vision is a more integrated society where there is understanding and appreciation of each other’s differences. We design and deliver programmes that bring different people together to develop their confidence and skills in understanding and connecting with others. We believe everyone benefits when people from all walks of life come together to better know, understand and trust each other. This also applies to the people we employ to work with us. As an equal opportunities employer our aim is to have a diverse workforce to reflect the communities we work in.
NCS is a three-part programme for 15-17 year olds. It’s perfect for boosting CV experience, personal statements, and UCAS forms. It’s also an unforgettable experience which builds confidence and independence. We run the programme during summer, autumn half term, and autumn term time.
We design and deliver programmes that bring different people together to develop their confidence and skills in understanding and connecting with others.
The programme is a government-funded initiative that brings together schools, community organisations, businesses and individuals to build a stronger and more cohesive society. It never costs more than £50, and financial assistance can be requested. The programme’s three parts are:
Phase 1 – Adventure
Socially mixed teams of young people bond through a week of challenging outdoor activities. Residential.
Phase 2 – Skills
Teams return to their local communities to learn new skills and interact with community partners & charities. Residential. rt.
Phase 3&4 – Social Action
Teams design a Social Action Campaign to benefit their local community and pitches it to local business leaders in our NCS Dragon’s Den. They then make the project a reality in their local area.
This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic, rapidly growing organisation, working with young people and local communities across the country. For more information about what The Challenge does and what its values are, please visit our website http://the-challenge.org/
