Travers Smith Graduate Jobs

Would you like responsibility from day one, so you are on the phone to clients, in meetings and handling your own work?

We can’t promise the earth, but we can offer a hands-on experience that’s backed by top-class training and support as you enter the legal profession direct from college…

Who we are

Founded in 1810, Travers Smith is an elite corporate law firm headquartered in London, United Kingdom. We advise national and multinational companies in the UK and internationally across the full range of corporate and commercial matters. We now have over 220 lawyers located at our two offices in London and Paris.

Careers with us

Over the years we have placed great emphasis on creating an environment where people enjoy working, whether as a lawyer or one of our support team.

We like to think the fact that our staff stay so long - we have one of the lowest attrition rates in the City - is proof of how successful we are.

Graduate recruitment

We are looking for distinctive thinkers who want to be challenged from the start, stretched by top quality work and inspired by leading lawyers in their fields. We're looking imaginative and focused people who are committed to a career in law but who also have a lighter side; we’re serious about our work but not ourselves.

In return, we offer the chance to be part of a successful and supportive firm that has earned a phenomenal reputation, is recognised as a leading specialist in each of its chosen disciplines and routinely wins headline-grabbing work.

Right from the word go, you'll be learning from lawyers who are recognised as leading experts in their specialist areas.

We only offer training contracts to people who we believe have the potential to become partners in the firm and we're particularly proud of the fact that almost half of our partners trained with us.

Towards the end of your training contract, we'll ask you which department you'd like to join and we'll do all we can to make that happen. Because we have a policy of not over-recruiting, we can almost always offer our trainees a long-term career with us.
