UKSA : Superyacht Cadetship
Have you considered a long-term career in the maritime industry? One rewarding and lucrative route for 18-25 year olds is to start as a deckhand on superyachts and move up through the ranks. The Superyacht Cadetship at maritime training provider UKSA is a four-year programme that combines phases of training at UKSA with paid work placements in the superyacht industry, enabling you to earn while you learn. Whilst working, students can typically earn €2,000 a month tax free excluding tips. If sensible, students can graduate debt free and sail into a lucrative career.
UKSA is based in Cowes on the Isle of Wight - the heart of the yachting world. You don’t need yachting qualifications - the Cadetship will provide a structured progression through the RYA Yachting scheme to MCA Deck Officer training. It is also possible to complete a FdSc (Foundation Degree) in Operational Yacht Science too. There are funding opportunities for the right candidates. All your food and accommodation is included during your training phases.
UKSA hold monthly open days for potential students to come and see our facilities, fleet and fabulous location. Speak to the maritime industry experts, learn about different routes into international yachting and watersports and have all your questions answered.
