Job title: Apprentice Payroll & Compliance Assistant Location: Croydon, London Wage: £10,000 per annum Start date: ASAP Working hours: Monday to Friday/ 10am-5.30pm/ 37 hours per week Time spent in training: You are required to spend a minimum of 7 hours per week in training that supports your apprenticeship course What is an apprenticeship? Apprenticeship course available: Business Administrator Level 2 Course information: Business & Administration Level 2 About the role: My client is a small independent family run recruitment agency, who specialise in supplying workers into the Public, Private, Health Care and Not for Profit sectors. They are based in the heart of Croydon, a stone throw away from East Croydon train station; our office is modern, bright and welcoming to match their service. Their clients range from Local Authorities, Housing Associations, the NHS, Central Government Organisations and major Charities across the UK. Their role is to supply staffing solutions within specialist sectors, which enables clients services to run efficiently, by ensuring they supply suitably qualified and compliant workers into their workforce. We also provide temporary cover within their specialist areas, which means they manage their temporary workers and operate a weekly payroll service to ensure their workers are paid on time. Benefits include: Apprenticeship training delivered at your workplace to achieve a nationally recognised certificate Competitive apprentice wage Career guidance with opportunities for progression Retail discounts Discounted travel Job duties and responsibilities: Payroll Submit temporary workers timesheets on MVS in line with relevant deadlines Ensure workers timesheets are approved by authorised approvers Ensure timesheets submitted are accurate Chase workers if timesheets are not submitted in line with relevant deadlines Notify workers of non-approved timesheets in line with relevant deadlines Recording workers' hours on relevant system/database Clear payroll with Line Manager on completion, notifying of any issues. Compliance Verify workers eligibility to work in the UK, using the relevant government resources and guidelines. Verify candidates references in line with clients' requirements. Carry out candidate compliance checks, ensuring all documentation is signed and returned by candidate File candidates' compliance in accordance with internal guidelines Maintain database/spreadsheet which includes verifying that all compliance has been received and/or of any compliance outstanding Maintain regular communication with Line Manager with regards to status of candidates' compliance General Administration Format candidates' CV in line with company templates and guidelines To answer telephone queries, resolving enquiries and providing advice and information on a wide range of general and specific issues To ensure all enquiries, correspondence, compliments and complaints are properly logged on the relevant database and are sent to the appropriate team for a response within the stated deadline Maintaining internal CRM, ensuring strict adherence to confidentiality and GDPR The successful candidate will have the following: Excellent knowledge of computers and Microsoft packages Strong analytical Skills Excellent communications skills Confident and dynamic personality Strong creative outlook.
