Summary of the job roleBusiness/ HR Tutors - Apprenticeship Standards We at the BIOR are looking for passionate and experienced Business and/or HR tutors to join our vibrant and dynamic team to prepare and deliver individual assessment plans for our learners enrolled on Business or HR apprenticeships. All tutors will be responsible for their workload and will typically manage and educate a cohort of 30 to 35 learners at any given time. Tutors need to be highly organised in order to plan and carry out teaching, learning and assessments against the National Occupational Standards while ensuring timely achievement of all qualifications. They will also be required develop and maintain relationships with all of our members within the organisation, employers and learners. We are particularly interested in those living in, or able to commute to and from the following areas: Manchester, Liverpool, Preston and Cumbria Yorkshire Norwich Essex/Kent Main Duties Visiting learners in the workplace and assessing them as part of their Apprenticeship qualifications to ensure the successful outcome for the Apprenticeship in line with contractual requirements and targets. Prepare, agree and review assessment plans with each Learner. Create learner portfolios to agreed target standards and ensure they are submitted on time. Visit Learners at least once per month within the workplace to provide support, prepare action plans, undertake assessments and provide feedback on performance. Efficient and effective operation of the assessment process in line with the BIOR policy relating to quality and the requirements of the awarding body representatives Carry out 12 weekly reviews with apprentices ensuring all party involvement. Carry out interim and exit reviews with Levy and Non-Levy funded learners. Manage and maintain learner folders in line with ESFA audit requirements. Assist with development of the provision to ensure that the programme is up to date Liaise with the Functional Skills tutor to ensure that the learner's needs are met on the course. Promote apprenticeships with employers including encouragement of progression routes. Maintain knowledge of funding streams and eligibility criteria. Undertake Health and Safety checks for learners on programme. Ensure the full embedding of Equal Opportunities and Diversity, Health & Safety, Safeguarding, Prevent, British Values and Well Being requirement (including Safe Learner Concept) are complied with and all Learners are given fair access to teaching, learning and assessment. Participate in and support the annual self-assessment process. Attend and participate in meetings within the organisation, as required. Represent the organisation at relevant events and generally supporting the organisation’s marketing strategy. Maintain annual record of CPD, minimum 30 hours (pro rata). To take responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students with whom you come into contact. Additional duties appropriate to the post as directed by the Quality Manager, Operations Manager, IQA and any member of the SLT. The ideal tutor will be articulate and an excellent communicator. Due to the technical aspects of this post, you should have one of the following: At least five years’ experience within a tutor/assessor / skills coach post in the appropriate sector: Human Resources Recruitment Business Management Customer Service Business Administration A minimum of Level 2 or GCSE Grade C in English and Maths. DTLLS or similarly weighted qualification in education TAQA, CAVA or similar qualifications in Assessment Ideally, you will also have previous exposure to Apprenticeship delivery. However, this is not essential as training will be provided. A DBS check will be carried out for this role.
