Summary of the job roleOur Market leading high technology client requires a Business Development Manager to Identify and execute growth opportunities for both existing and potential customers within the UK and international CBRN Markets. Applicants must have extensive knowledge of Defence and Security product capabilities. Our client's products are used globally in a wide array of situations to rescue people in danger, detect criminals, conserve energy, navigate safely, provide security, save lives and protect our environment. Focusing initially on the UK Defence and security markets with a view to grow into EMEA capitalising and building on future growth opportunities. You will be responsible for increasing the company's sales and market share for the CBRN product range and your success in the role will come from your ability to identify and capitalise on opportunities within major Defence and security programmes. Responsibilities extend to leading the proposal process for all pursuits in territories as well as managing existing customers and work to anticipate future customer requirements and needs. Your knowledge of upcoming programmes will enable input into future product developments. As part of your role you will be responsible for: ?Identify new business opportunities by proactively creating, cultivating, and enhancing relationships with industry and government contacts. ?Review suggested business opportunities to inform bid/no bid decisions based on company objectives and present recommendations to Defence Leadership Team. ?Evaluate, review, and provide input regarding major marketing, distribution, and manufacturing proposals and their impact on the sales function. ?Lead negotiations and execute potential opportunities with existing and potential customers. ?Facilitate efforts to develop, implement, and refine standard procedures with tools including customer relationship management (CRM) for researching, collecting, and tracking information about customers. You will have the following experience ?Experience working with governments/militaries UK and/or internationally ?Commercial business development experience in the defence/security sector, with a record of success in contract capture. ?Keen understanding of Defence and Security product capabilities ?Ability to participate in the development and execution of regional and country-specific marketing strategies ?Ability to influence and lead others ?Thorough knowledge of computer software (i.e. Microsoft suite of products including Title: Business Development Manager Pay Rate and Bens: Attractive Location: Remote/Home based with International travel Key Skills Business Development, Sales, Strategies, New Markets, Customer Relations, detection equipment, Security Systems, Optics, Engineering, Defence, Military, Government.
