Overview A leading electronics company based on the outskirts of Fareham is looking to recruit a Lead Manufacturing Engineer to support the development of new and existing products. You will need to be confident challenging and influencing others and have excellent communication and organisational skills. The Role In this varied role you will be working within a small to medium volume manufacturing environment. You will participate in the research, design and development of new and existing products. You will also oversee 1 direct report. Duties will include: Act as a liaison between Manufacturing, Testing, Design teams, plus other areas of the business including Suppliers Develop and maintain robust and cost effective manufacturing processes, consistent with Lean methodologies Solve technical product, process and business problems utilising such structured approaches as 8D and Six Sigma Liaise with the design engineers to ensure acceptance of new design proposals Play a key role in assisting in NPI projects from design through to delivery Measure, monitor and analyse productivity metrics and lead teams to continuously improve performance The Ideal Candidate To be considered for this role you would ideally be educated to degree level (or equivalent) in an Electronics or Electromechanical engineering discipline. You must have a strong manufacturing background where you can show good examples of developing manufacturing processes, leading change and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have a strong balance of technical skills with good communication and leadership skills. You will need to demonstrate a driven and motivated personality. Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean, and 8D is also desired.
