Advert for Maternity Care Assistant An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-time care assistant (24 hours/week) to join our friendly team in the antenatal clinic to cover a 10 month period of maternity leave. The antenatal clinic is a busy outpatient area, where we see a variety of pregnant women some with complications in their pregnancy as well as other having routine tests. Duties will involve direct patient care, mainly performing vital sign observation, venepuncture and chaperoning doctors during intimate examinations. The applicant will also need to ensure the area is clean and stocked as well as performing some administrative tasks which will include the use of some Trusts IT systems. The successful applicant must have completed the Trust Care Certificate and ideally be proficient in venepuncture, however this is not essential and training can be provided if necessary.
