Summary of the job role

Senior Investment Manager – International Development Swindon £38,318 Permanent Full Time/Part time minimum 0.8 FTE will be considered A vacancy has arisen for a Senior International Development Manager to join the International Development and Area Studies Team within the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC), which is part of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI). You will be responsible for providing leadership of allocated activities within AHRC’s programmes division and will lead and support Investment Managers and Officers in the development and management of a range of funding schemes and initiatives. You will play a key role in informing strategic direction of the team and programmes division as a whole, including the development of existing schemes and delivery of new ones and the development of processes to monitor awards, including Equality and Diversity Monitoring. You will support the development of strategic relationships with key partners and groups, including members of the academic community and wider partners, both in the UK and - where appropriate - internationally, and provide advice to the Senior Management Team, AHRC Council and Advisory Board, cross-Research Council policy groups and other key partners in in relevant fields. You will work closely with other Councils within UKRI, supporting inter-disciplinary research and the co-delivery of strategic cross-Council initiatives. Approximately 50% of this post will be to provide support to the Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) Challenge Leader on Education. AHRC supports world-class research that furthers our understanding of human culture and creativity. It supports research and postgraduate training in a wide range of subject areas, from ancient history and heritage science to modern dance and digital content. To succeed in this role, you will have a good understanding of the UK higher education system and knowledge of the international development funding landscape. You will have knowledge of the international development funding landscape and experience in leading successful projects and programmes of work including budget management.
