Summary of the job roleVacancy Information Salary £36516 - £41165 per annum pro rata (£20.01 - £22.56 per hour) Temporary part time post for 6 months 14 hours per week Days of work: Thursday & Friday To start ASAP INTERNAL ONLY Applications for this post will only be accepted from current employees of East Lothian Council (this includes casual and agency staff who are currently undertaking work for us) An opportunity has arisen for a part time Senior Practitioner with an Occupational Therapy background to work in the Duty Response and Rehabilitation Team (DRRT) for a period of 6 months. The DRRT is a multidisciplinary team dealing with Crisis Intervention, Hospital Discharge, Rehabilitation and a wide range of other short term intervention work. The Senior Practitioner role is to work closely with other Senior Practitioners to lead the team to fulfill their role. A key role is to manage all work coming in to adult social care, direct it to other teams where appropriate and allocate and supervise work that falls within the remit of the team. There is a high volume of work in this area so the ability to make decisions quickly is required. The Senior Practitioner is required to lead and support team members particularly in managing risk. The role also involves working alongside a variety of other organisations and health professionals so a broad knowledge and understanding of services is required. There will be the opportunity to contribute to developing the service as East Lothian continues to develop the Integration of Health and Social Care. Job Details To provide a responsive and needs led occupational therapy service throughout East Lothian within the requirements of relevant legislation, national standards, policies and guidelines. Job Requirements Qualifications Qualification recognised by professional body – i.e. Dip/Bsc/Msc Occupational Therapy. Registration as an Occupational Therapist with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Adult Protection Certificate level 2 Full current driving licence and access to a vehicle (Where a disability precludes you from obtaining a driving licence, ELC will take into account its responsibility to make reasonable adjustments to allow for your disability). PVG/Disclosure Requirements This post is considered as Regulated Work with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. All preferred candidates for posts carrying out regulated work with these groups will be required to become a PVG Scheme member, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if they are already a member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made by East Lothian Council.
