Our history dates back to 1870, when the Company was first established. We take pride in being one of the true innovators in the world of freight forwarding and supply chain management, whilst remaining under independent ownership. Davies Turner will continue these successful policies as we go forward, developing new routes and products across all transport modes, as well as strengthening our network of overseas partners.
Our core products - in air, ocean, overland forwarding and customs services, as well as in warehouse management and distribution - enable us to provide flexible logistics, storage and supply chain management solutions.
Logistics - We manage over one million sqft of multi-user warehousing space. This is supported by state-of-the-art handling equipment, generic and bespoke IT systems developed in-house, complemented by the latest proprietary Warehouse Management System software, giving full process and inventory control.
Overland - From our various freight hubs across the UK trailer services can handle groupage, part and full loads with express, intermodal and heavy lift options giving extensive coverage throughout the EU extending into Eastern Europe, Russia, Central Asia, the Middle East and North Africa.
Ocean - We provide a complete range of import and export services for groupage and full container loads, as well as co-ordinating heavy lift or out-of-gauge project cargo. Our secure, scheduled ocean freight services connect with all the main overseas markets.
Air Cargo - We offer a complete range of services worldwide including air import, export, express courier, hand carry, door-to-door, customs clearance and cross-trade freight management using our worldwide network. We also offer project, economy, out-of-gauge and charter services supported by in-house Aviation Security X-ray screening.
Our mission, quite simply, is to satisfy the international freight and supply chain needs of our clients. This has remained a constant ambition since our founding in 1870.
Career Opportunities & Training:
The training scheme is an ideal first step on the career ladder. Training will be given in all of the departments (Logistics, Overland, and Ocean) as well as in Customs, Sales and Credit Control. Personal development training is also given, together with the opportunity to achieve an industry specific qualification. The training scheme has been running for 6 years, with many of the original Trainees now in key positions.
We employ in excess of 850 employees in 23 locations. Our main hubs are based in Birmingham, Bristol, Dartford, Manchester& Heathrow.
